I served eight years in the air force and was discharged in 2024 with chronic tinnitus. I have been waiting eleven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place. I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $900. I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing. Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly. Where the $900 goes: • Housing deposit and first month: $350 • Transport to appointments: $80 • Training provider fees: $470 Thanks for being kind about this. - Wambui

I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Greetings from Saket.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Nairobi.
