Walker was diagnosed with an aortic valve defect in February. The surgeon at Saint Anne Hospital recommended septoplasty, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $7,250, and after what my employer's plan will pay we're still $5,100 short. my father has been in and out of Saint Anne Hospital since February. The doctors say an aortic valve defect will get worse without septoplasty. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $7,250 is more than we can find. While we wait, Walker struggles with daily life and can't walk without help. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. The recovery period is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Walker won't be able to walk without help, so the costs keep growing. I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.         Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. surgeon and anesthesia fees comes first ($2,350) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
