Waleed received an eviction notice - help us catch up on rent
After the loss of a second income, Waleed is 5 months behind on rent and has a notice to vacate from the landlord.

Following a long illness in the family, I fell 5 months behind on rent. Last Saturday a notice to vacate was taped to my door, and the amount I owe is $700.
My landlord has been understanding for a while, but he has now been clear: if the arrears aren't cleared by November, we must leave.
I have two young children at home. Moving isn't just an expense - it would mean new schools, a new commute and no deposit to put down anywhere else.
I have started working two part-time jobs, and I'm applying for help from local services, but nothing will arrive in time without the rest of the gap covered here.
Funds go to the landlord and nowhere else. Any amount left over after the arrears are cleared will go toward next month's rent.
Where the $700 goes:
• Rent arrears (5 months): $460
• Late fees and court costs: $25
• Utilities in arrears: $55
• First month of rent as a buffer: $160
Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Waleed
Small update. $253 so far, I made the first payment toward utilities in arrears.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 65% funded and the plan for late fees and court costs is now scheduled.

Sending strength, Waleed. Shared this with my family. Take care
You're not alone, Waleed. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Love from Athens.
Sending good thoughts, Waleed. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Thinking of Mohammedia.
