Wage-theft claim: Yue needs $550 before the deadline
Yue needs $550 for filing fees and representation in a wage-theft claim before the May deadline.

I'm facing a wage-theft claim. My hearing is scheduled for May, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $550. I have been told by three legal-aid offices that their waiting list is longer than my deadline.
I have all of my paperwork ready, and my caseworker at a local immigrant rights clinic has confirmed that my case is valid.
If I miss the deadline I could lose my right to stay with my family and my job. My children were born here and this is the only home they know.
I'll share any non-sensitive updates as the case moves along.
Funds cover only the filing fees, translations and attorney retainer.
Where the $550 goes:
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $95
• Certified translations and document copies: $105
• Filing and biometrics fees: $350
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Yue.
Court-appointed interpreter and travel is $95 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Thanks for looking so closely.
Rooting for you, Yue. I hope things turn around soon. My husband and I read this together.
I hope things turn around soon. Love from Jakarta Selatan
Keep going. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Take care.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Abbottabad so I could bring a meal. All the best.
