Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Lydia in Halifax
Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Halifax?

I'm a disabled veteran living in Halifax. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 3 places, and the kids' bedroom is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $2,400, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the tiles and battens. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Hope things get better soon. Rent stress is the worst. Hope this helps. Put this on a community board in Kadıköy this morning. Greetings from Kadıköy.
Praying for you. Looking forward to the next update. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. All the best!
Stay strong. Your post was clear and honest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. Blessings.
