Volunteers needed to fix a leaking roof for Kaylee in Bakersfield
Could you spare a weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Bakersfield?
🇺🇸 Bakersfield, California, United States218 views
I'm a widowed grandmother living in Bakersfield. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $5,250, which isn't something I can pay.
The good news: a local hardware store has donated the roofing sheets and nails. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for 4-6 people who can help over a weekend.
Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is sturdy shoes, gloves and a willingness to work. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks.
The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too.
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Sending love, Kaylee. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together.
Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Wish I lived closer to Cape Town so I could bring a meal. God bless.
Stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. My neighbor in San Jose donated after I showed her your page. Love from San Jose.
This could happen to any of us. I have a 11 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Greetings from Jacksonville.
Rooting for you, Kaylee. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. All the best.
