Volcanic eruption in Semarang: help Millbrook village rebuild
After the volcanic eruption, families in Millbrook village need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇮🇩 Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia1,629 views
The volcanic eruption hit Millbrook village on 25 June. My home was one of 23 damaged, and 10 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Tools and labor for repairs: $330
• Clean water and purification supplies: $170
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $220
• Roofing sheets and timber: $380
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there anything that isn't money that would help Lukman?
Thank you. If you're in Semarang I'll say if something practical comes up. For now sharing this is great. Appreciate you taking the time.
Thinking of you and your family, Lukman. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.
