Chiang Mai
Vilai was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in January. The oncology team at the Chiang Mai Oncology Institute has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in March. She will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Vilai is 53, worked as a hairdresser until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Chiang Mai Oncology Institute 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $2,450 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,500 • Scans and lab work: $360 • Transport to the Chiang Mai Oncology Institute: $120 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $170 • Household costs while unable to work: $300 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
