Việt was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in July. The oncology team at Dallas Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in October. He will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Việt is 36, worked as a primary school teacher until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dallas Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $10,750 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $6,500
• Scans and lab work: $790
• Transport to Dallas Regional Medical Center: $870
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $750
• Household costs while unable to work: $1,840

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($6,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid.
