I served eight years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2022 with post-traumatic stress. I have been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place. I have a plan: a first month of rent and transport to job interviews. The quote I have comes to $750. I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing. I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden. Where the $750 goes: • Training provider fees: $380 • Housing deposit and first month: $230 • Transport to appointments: $45 • Essential household items: $95 I hope life is good to you. - Yamini

Updates from Yamini

  1. Thank you all. We're at 98% now ($735). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.

  2. We're at 37% thanks to 6 of you. I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($230 in total) I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Hope it all works out, Yamini. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. It's not much but it's yours.
