Veteran in need: Nonso's next mission is stability
After twelve years of service, Nonso is raising funds for a trained service dog and handler course.

I served twelve years in the navy and was discharged in 2023 with chronic tinnitus. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $700.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $700 goes:
• Training provider fees: $390
• Housing deposit and first month: $190
• Transport to appointments: $55
• Essential household items: $65
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
Updates from Nonso
Thank you all. We're at 11% now ($80). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward housing deposit and first month.

Hope it all works out, Nonso. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Hope it all works out, Nonso. I hope things turn around soon. Don't give up. Blessings.
Sending good thoughts. Shared this with my family. After 8 years in construction I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Nonso
Sure. The biggest one is training provider fees, $390. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
sending love, Nonso. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Wish I lived closer to Quezon City so I could bring a meal. Love from Kano.
You're not alone. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless.
