Veteran in need: Maya's next mission is stability
After fourteen years of service, Maya is raising funds for a vocational welding course and tools.

I served fourteen years in the marines and was discharged in 2025 with chronic tinnitus. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a vocational welding course and tools. The quote I have comes to $3,950.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $3,950 goes:
• Transport to appointments: $470
• Housing deposit and first month: $2,050
• Training provider fees: $1,430
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Thinking of you, Maya. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. All the best.
