Veteran in need: Lea's next mission is stability
After twelve years of service, Lea is raising funds for a trained service dog and handler course.

I served twelve years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2023 with a back injury. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $3,100.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $3,100 goes:
• Essential household items: $310
• Transport to appointments: $200
• Training provider fees: $2,590
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
