Veteran in need: Khalid's next mission is stability
Khalid served eight years in the engineering corps; $5,350 would cover a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

I served eight years in the engineering corps and was discharged in 2024 with hearing damage and PTSD. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $5,350.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $5,350 goes:
• Training provider fees: $2,450
• Housing deposit and first month: $2,350
• Transport to appointments: $330
• Essential household items: $220
Thank you so much.
