Thane

I served eight years in the army and was discharged in 2023 with a service-related knee injury. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place. I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $650. I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces. I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing. I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden. Where the $650 goes: • Training provider fees: $360 • Housing deposit and first month: $155 • Transport to appointments: $90 • Essential household items: $45 Thanks for reading all this. - Dinesh

Updates from Dinesh

Wanted to say thank you properly. 45% funded and the plan for transport to appointments is now scheduled.
Thank you all. We're at 22% now ($142). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($247 in total) I met with the provider and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
