Allison served four years in the air force and was discharged in 2025 with a service-related knee injury. She has been waiting nine months for support, and meanwhile is sleeping at a brother's place.
The plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote comes to $4,500.
Allison is receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and is committed to recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
Money will be paid to the training provider and the landlord directly.
Where the $4,500 goes:
• Training provider fees: $1,600
• Housing deposit and first month: $2,100
• Transport to appointments: $310
• Essential household items: $490
Glad we found this place.
