Veteran in need: Anil's next mission is stability
Anil served twelve years in the medical corps; $700 would cover a trained service dog and handler course.

I served twelve years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2025 with a service-related knee injury. I have been waiting seven months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a trained service dog and handler course. The quote I have comes to $700.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $700 goes:
• Training provider fees: $370
• Housing deposit and first month: $220
• Transport to appointments: $80
• Essential household items: $30
Thanks for being kind about this.

Thinking of you and your family, Anil. Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Saket.
Shared it with a few friends. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Mumbai.
