Vancouver wildfire relief - Riverside village
The wildfire damaged 28 homes in Riverside village. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The wildfire hit Riverside village on 18 November. My home was one of 28 damaged, and 7 families are still in temporary shelter at a mosque and church hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $6,650 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $1,350
• Clean water and purification supplies: $1,050
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,450
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,050
• Tools and labor for repairs: $1,750
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
