Valentina's non-Hodgkin lymphoma treatment fund

Valentina is facing non-Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Valentina was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in June. The oncology team at the Greensboro Oncology Institute has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in August. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Valentina is 57, worked as a farmer until June, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Greensboro Oncology Institute 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $10,000 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $5,500 • Scans and lab work: $1,400 • Transport to the Greensboro Oncology Institute: $530 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $740 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,830 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Aaron

  • Sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Wish I lived closer to Zapopan so I could bring a meal!
