Valentina was diagnosed with gallstones with repeated infections in December. The surgeon at Fresno Community Hospital recommended hip replacement surgery, and She is scheduled for February. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $8,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $6,550 short.
my wife has been in and out of Fresno Community Hospital since December. The doctors say gallstones with repeated infections will get worse without hip replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $8,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Valentina struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 5 weeks. During that time Valentina won't be able to look after the children alone, so the costs keep growing.
