I'm caring for my mother, who's 82. After a heart attack Usha can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Usha desperately wants to stay at home. I work 40 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Usha worked all of her life as a schoolteacher, and raised 3 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $750 goes: • Part-time carer (eight months): $570 • Medication and prescriptions: $120 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $35 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $25 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it. - Deepa

  • Gave what I could, wish it was more. Put this on a community board in Pune this morning. Thinking of Ludhiana.
