Unity Primary School needs a solar-powered water pump - Hitesh's neighborhood project

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 130 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $250 • Safety equipment and signage: $85 • Permits and inspections: $15 Glad we found this place.
