Unity Primary School needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Pierre's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Bordeaux are raising $2,900 for a sensory garden for children with autism at Unity Primary School.
🇫🇷 Bordeaux, Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France630 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 23 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,900.
It will serve about 495 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Materials: $2,500
• Permits and inspections: $270
• Tools hire and delivery: $130
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

sending strength, Pierre. More neighborhoods should do this. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.
Best of luck, Pierre. Your post was clear and honest. Wish I lived closer to Mumbai so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Bordeaux
