For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 569 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $270 • Permits and inspections: $55 • Safety equipment and signage: $80 • Tools hire and delivery: $95 Thank you so much.

  • you're not alone. Shared it with a few friends. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless

    • You're not alone, Kagiso. Your post was clear and honest. I'm in public service myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

      • So sorry you're going through this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Kampala
