Unity Primary School needs a covered market stall space - Gabriel's neighborhood project
Volunteers in San Francisco are raising $2,150 for a covered market stall space at Unity Primary School.
🇺🇸 California, United States2,020 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,150.
It will serve about 100 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,150 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $300
• Materials: $1,500
• Permits and inspections: $350
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
