Unity Park needs a free library and reading room - Ratul's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $500 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $125, and the remaining cost is $500.
It will serve about 135 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $500 goes:
• Materials: $430
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
