For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Unity Park, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,950. It will serve about 350 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,950 goes: • Materials: $890 • Permits and inspections: $200 • Safety equipment and signage: $380 • Tools hire and delivery: $480 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  1. Quick update: $202 raised so far (10%). I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  2. Update from Macon: we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. We're at 8% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
