For three years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 424 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $600 goes:
• Safety equipment and signage: $135
• Permits and inspections: $130
• Tools hire and delivery: $335
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. All the best.
