Union Park needs a skate park - Amit's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a skate park - we need $250 for materials.
🇮🇳 Mumbai, Maharashtra, India305 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Park, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 483 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in May and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $250 goes:
• Materials: $130
• Tools hire and delivery: $70
• Permits and inspections: $50
Every share and every dollar helps.
Updates from Amit
Wanted to say thank you properly. 20% funded and I made the first payment toward permits and inspections.
Quick update: $50 raised so far (20%). I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Thank you all. We're at 8% now ($20). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.

good luck, Amit. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend
