Union Park needs a rainwater harvesting system - James's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $3,550 for materials.
Anywhere in the world2,059 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Union Park, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,550.
It will serve about 409 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,550 goes:
• Materials: $2,450
• Permits and inspections: $290
• Safety equipment and signage: $320
• Tools hire and delivery: $490
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
