Two weekends of roof repair for Rahim, a retired bus driver in Dhaka

Could you spare one long weekend to help repair a leaking roof in Dhaka?

I'm a retired bus driver living in Dhaka. During the last storm water started coming through the ceiling in 2 places, and the kitchen is no longer usable. A roofer quoted $350, which isn't something I can pay. The good news: a local hardware store has donated the shingles and underlay. What I don't have is people to do the work. I'm looking for a small crew who can help over one long weekend. Experience helps, but it isn't essential - I'll have a licensed roofer supervising for safety. All you need is work boots and a hat. I'll provide lunch, water and lots of thanks. The work will be done on the ground and roof with proper harnesses. If you can only help for a few hours, that's welcome too. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Sending strength. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Love from Essen.
