Tumusiime's laparoscopic cyst removal can't wait - please help us cover the bill
Tumusiime needs laparoscopic cyst removal at Arusha Regional Medical Center and the family is $850 short of the hospital's estimate.

In January I was diagnosed with a hip fracture that never healed properly. My surgeon at Arusha Regional Medical Center recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and I have been placed on the schedule for March. The hospital's financial office gave me a written estimate of $1,050, and after what the public health scheme will pay, I'm still $850 short.
Doctors at Arusha Regional Medical Center told me a hip fracture that never healed properly will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. I work as a restaurant cook, and I have saved what I can, but the estimate of $1,050 is far beyond what I've.
Until the surgery I can't work full days, and my hours as a restaurant cook have already been cut. Every week of waiting means more pain and a bigger risk.
Recovery is expected to take about 6 weeks. I'll not be able to drive during that time, so this has become a financial emergency as well as a medical one.
I'll pay the hospital and pharmacy directly and post every receipt in the updates section.
Where the $850 goes:
• Physiotherapy sessions: $100
• Post-operative medication: $40
• Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $390
• Hospital stay (2 nights): $260
• Travel and lodging for the family: $60
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
