Nakuru
Upendo is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying an electrical engineering diploma at Nakuru University, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a tutor to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $950. The registrar has said Upendo can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Upendo has a first-class average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Upendo would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Upendo isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Nakuru University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $950 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $520 • Final term tuition: $340 • Exam and lab fees: $25 • Textbooks and materials: $65 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Praying for you. Good luck with the exams, you've got this. All the best

    • Sending good thoughts, Njeri. Shared this with my family. My neighbor in Yonkers donated after I showed her your page. Thinking of Nakuru.

      • You're not alone. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Faisalabad.
