I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a pharmacy diploma at Lagos Polytechnic, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $950. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $950 goes: โ€ข Outstanding tuition balance: $310 โ€ข Final term tuition: $560 โ€ข Exam and lab fees: $30 โ€ข Textbooks and materials: $50 Thanks for reading all this.

Sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust!

Thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. After 30 years in hospitality I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

Sending good thoughts, Tunde. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Thinking of Lagos.
