I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a degree in civil engineering at Tlaquepaque University, and I'm one term away from graduating. I have worked as a tutor to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $550. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a top-ten-percent average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Tlaquepaque University bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $550 goes: • Textbooks and materials: $95 • Exam and lab fees: $40 • Final term tuition: $415 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Tomás

  • Take care, Tomás. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I hope November is when things finally get easier. Take care.

    • Gave what I could, wish it was more. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless.
