Tuition fund for Taro: a teaching qualification at Yokohama Community College
A first-generation student, Taro needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a teaching qualification.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a teaching qualification at Yokohama Community College, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $1,600.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.9 average, and my faculty supervisor has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $1,600 goes:
• Exam and lab fees: $65
• Outstanding tuition balance: $1,250
• Textbooks and materials: $285
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Taro.
It's all in the list in the story. exam and lab fees is the big one at $65, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Thanks for asking.
Best of luck, Taro. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I have a 6 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Thinking of Yokohama.
