Tuition fund for Simiyu: a teaching qualification at Nairobi University

Simiyu is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a teaching qualification at Nairobi University, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $950. The registrar has said Simiyu can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Simiyu has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Simiyu would lose his place and scholarship eligibility. Simiyu isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $950 goes: • Outstanding tuition balance: $410 • Final term tuition: $420 • Exam and lab fees: $55 • Textbooks and materials: $65 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
