Ruth is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a nursing degree at Toronto Polytechnic, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $4,150. The registrar has said Ruth can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Ruth has a 3.6 average, and a professor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Ruth would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Ruth isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. The payment will go directly to the Toronto Polytechnic bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $4,150 goes: • Final term tuition: $1,500 • Textbooks and materials: $290 • Outstanding tuition balance: $2,360 With deep gratitude, Hadley
