Roman is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying an electrical engineering diploma at the Chattanooga Institute of Technology, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a barista to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $3,550.
The registrar has said Roman can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Roman has a 3.8 average, and an academic advisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Roman would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Roman isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
