Nolan is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a computer science degree at Las Cruces University, and is one semester away from graduating. He has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $2,650.
The registrar has said Nolan can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Nolan has a 3.6 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Nolan would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Nolan isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.

• Final term tuition: $2,150
