Tuition fund for Nalini: a degree in social work at Sandton State College

Nalini is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in social work at Sandton State College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a shop assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,000. The registrar has said Nalini can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Nalini has a 3.9 average, and an academic advisor has written in support. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Nalini would lose her place and scholarship eligibility. Nalini isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student. Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees. Where the $1,000 goes: • Final term tuition: $630 • Outstanding tuition balance: $270 • Exam and lab fees: $100 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
