Sacramento
I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a computer science degree at the Sacramento Institute of Technology, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $4,750. The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a first-class average, and my professor has written in support of my application for a payment plan. Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility. I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student. The payment will go directly to the the Sacramento Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt. Where the $4,750 goes: • Final term tuition: $3,100 • Exam and lab fees: $310 • Outstanding tuition balance: $1,340 With deep gratitude, Lucía

As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. Wish I lived closer to Columbus so I could bring a meal

                  • as a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. After 27 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
