Godwin is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a degree in social work at the Epe Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a warehouse packer to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has said Godwin can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Godwin has a 3.6 average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Godwin would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.
Godwin isn't asking for a handout - He wants to finish what He started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
Where the $850 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $360
• Final term tuition: $470
• Exam and lab fees: $20
