Tuition fund for George: a teaching qualification at Tarkwa Community College
A first-generation student, George needs help covering tuition for the final stretch of a teaching qualification.

I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying a teaching qualification at Tarkwa Community College, and I'm two terms away from graduating. I have worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $650.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a 3.8 average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the Tarkwa Community College bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $650 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $370
• Final term tuition: $200
• Exam and lab fees: $15
• Textbooks and materials: $65
Thank you so much.

Good news. Because of your gifts ($552 in total) I met with the university and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

Stay strong, George. This could happen to any of us. My neighbor in Santa Fe donated after I showed her your page.
Best of luck, George. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. I'll check back for the next update
Your post was clear and honest. Thinking of Tarkwa.
