Defne is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a computer science degree at Üsküdar Community College, and is one semester away from graduating. She has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $1,200.
The registrar has said Defne can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Defne has a first-class average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Defne would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Defne isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.

• Final term tuition: $610
• Exam and lab fees: $80
• Textbooks and materials: $50
