Aster is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a teaching qualification at Addis Ababa State College, and is two terms away from graduating. She has worked as a library assistant to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $500.
The registrar has said Aster can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Aster has a 3.8 average, and a professor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Aster would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Aster isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.

• Outstanding tuition balance: $300
