Anyango is the first person in the family to go to university. She is studying a degree in civil engineering at Embakasi University, and is one term away from graduating. She has worked as a delivery rider to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $850.
The registrar has said Anyango can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. Anyango has a top-ten-percent average, and a faculty supervisor has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term Anyango would lose her place and scholarship eligibility.
Anyango isn't asking for a handout - She wants to finish what She started and help the next student.
Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
