An is the first person in the family to go to university. He is studying a diploma in hospitality management at the Hồ Chí Minh City Institute of Technology, and is one term away from graduating. He has worked as a night-shift cleaner to pay the way, but this term the hours were cut and there's an unpaid balance of $650.
The registrar has said An can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. An has a 3.8 average, and a department head has written in support.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support the younger siblings. Without enrolling this term An would lose his place and scholarship eligibility.

Everything raised goes to the university's accounts office toward the outstanding balance and the final term's fees.
