Tracey's prostate cancer treatment fund
Tracey is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇿🇦 Eastern Cape, South Africa251 views
Tracey was diagnosed with prostate cancer in August. The oncology team at Gqeberha University Hospital has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in November. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks.
Tracey is 32, worked as a bakery worker until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Gqeberha University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $260
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $190
• Transport to Gqeberha University Hospital: $185
• Household costs while unable to work: $465
If you're reading this, thank you.
