Tornado in Los Angeles: help the Eastgate settlement rebuild
Neighbors in the Eastgate settlement are rebuilding after the tornado; every contribution goes to materials and supplies.

The tornado hit the Eastgate settlement on 3 December. My home was one of 20 damaged, and 13 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $7,750 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $2,850
• Clean water and purification supplies: $710
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $1,550
• Food parcels for displaced families: $1,750
• Tools and labor for repairs: $890

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Jonathan
Sure. The biggest one is roofing sheets and timber, $2,850. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.
